What can
one say about a person like Rose Corcoran? That she likes to talk about herself in the third person, of
course.
Raised by a
family of nerds, she eats, breathes, and sleeps stories, absorbing them into
her subconscious. The heavy influence of Lewis Carroll, anime, and 80s fantasy
movies can be seen in the Styx Trilogy, while Ray Bradbury and Alexander McCall Smith are playing
havoc with her idea for a Sherlock-Holmes-esque fantasy. Still, writing doesn’t
pay the bills (yet), so she works a side job as a substitute teacher
mercenary.
As a rule,
she drinks far more tea than is normally considered acceptable, and once went
into a horrible withdrawal when separated from the drink for more than four
days. She tends to drink all teas with milk, regardless of variety, and has
crossed the world to find a green tea that she found acceptable (it’s houjicha,
and you should all go drink it).
Unlike all
the other “Meet X Person” posts, this one won’t be followed by a short story,
because Rose Corcoran hates writing personal narratives with a burning passion.
Next week’s post will probably pertain to Miscast Spells in some way, which is
far more interesting than the occurrences in the life of an author.
