Next Thursday, June 2nd,
will be this website's one year anniversary! It's been an exciting and eventful
year, what with a book release, signing and selling events, and the Goodreads
giveaway (which is still going on; click the link above this post to enter).
When I first started this
blog, I had one goal in mind: post every week! I'd been collecting poems for a
while, and had already written the first drafts of my character profiles, so I
had enough material to make my goal doable. But I still needed more posts, and
that is where my Miscast Spells tie-in short stories came in. I had to write a short story
a month, which is a big deal for me. The five stories, not including the
already-written bonus scene, total up to more than 24,000 words. Not bad! All
of the poems for National Poetry Month and most of the World of Miscast Spells
series were also new. Rose Corcoran, as the name of this site would suggest,
really does write!
All that being said, I
haven't been able to focus much on other projects, or on revising my second
book. I don't want to abandon blogging, but I really want to start a new novel
and edit and format Outcast Shadows in time for pre-orders, so I decided that I would take a
summer semi-vacation. Instead of every week, I'll post every other week from June 13th to September
6th. If you haven't already, follow me on Goodreads or Facebook or sign up for
email updates in the box to the upper right (it will always say "Rose
Corcoran" as the subject of the email, but the content will be each new
blog post).
The post two weeks from now
will feature exciting news about that lovely blue picture floating off to the
left and the new page you may have noticed in the menu bar. Stay tuned!
